Private Rental and Individualised Living Option (ILO)
People who live in a combination of private rental and Individualised Living Options (ILO) will have established a tenancy with a landlord and may or may not share a property with others. They will have stage 2 ILO funded in their NDIS plan and will be working with their ILO provider to make sure their arrangement is following their housing vision set out in their ILO Service Proposal.
What this looks like: You will live a Private rental property that has been identified as part of your Exploration and Design (ILO Stage one) process. You will have chosen this property because it ticks all the boxes for you in terms of location, bedrooms, bathrooms etc and hopefully an extended lease.
You will have your moderate to high support needs met by working with your ILO provider to deliver the supports that you set out in your Service Proposal. You will be supported in a way that looks unique to you. ILO’s are a move away from a formal service, and so you will have some component of natural or unpaid supports in this arrangement.
You will use the other funds in your NDIS plan to access the community, therapies, employment etc.
