Social Housing and Individualised Living Options
People who live in Social Housing and receive Individual Living Option supports will have gone through the Victorian Housing Register and potentially priority disability access and will have been funded with stage 2 ILO. The person will have identified an ILO provider to deliver the support arrangement in at least a 2 bedroom home.
What this looks like: The ILO provider will work closely with you and your support network to make sure the arrangement is working well. This arrangement will have been worked out thoroughly with the housing provider as meeting their access requirements. If you are living in a co-residency arrangement, the housemate without a disability will also have met the access requirements with the housing provider.
This model takes a long time to set up, and finding a 2-bedroom social housing property for disability access can be challenging and time consuming.
